Accelerated Healing & Deep Transformation
Weekly therapy is powerful for steady, ongoing growth. But true breakthroughs often require stepping entirely out of your daily environment and reconnecting with the earth.
A Liberated Mind Retreat is an exclusive, uninterrupted weekend designed to help you untangle from the past, break negative cycles, and achieve months of therapeutic progress in a matter of days. Hosted in the breathtaking red rock landscapes of Southern Utah, these intensives balance rigorous, evidence-based clinical work with the profound grounding effect of communing with nature.

There is a reason we host our intensives in the striking natural beauty of the St. George and Zion region. The sheer scale of the canyons and the quiet of the desert offer a profound shift in perspective.
Here, nature acts as a co-facilitator. Between intensive therapeutic sessions, you will have the time and space to breathe desert air, walk under expansive skies, and let your nervous system truly recalibrate. Stepping into this ancient, grounding landscape makes it easier to step out of your own head and back into your authentic life.
The Liberated Mind Approach
Led exclusively by our founders, these immersive intensives are built on the evidence-based tools of Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Existential Psychotherapy, and Gottman Couples Counseling. We move beyond generic “wellness getaways” to provide deep clinical processing grounded in our four pillars:
- Clarity: Cutting through the noise of perfectionism, burnout, and societal expectations.
- Focus: Identifying your authentic core values and setting a life-course direction.
- Equanimity: Finding emotional balance amidst existential crises or faith transitions.
- Kindness: Developing profound, lasting self-compassion and connection with the people you want to connect with.
Choose Your Retreat Experience
- Couples Intensives: Rebuild shared values in the face of change using the Gottman approach. Designed for couples navigating deep gridlock, major life shifts, or faith transitions. Step away from distractions to break the cycle of having the same fight and scientifically ground your relationship (ACT and CBT clinical work included).
- Typical group size: 6-8 couples.
- Women’s Group Retreats (Led by Julare Morris, LCSW): A space to stop pretending and set down the mental load. Unlearn people-pleasing, heal from trauma, and separate your self-worth from the expectations of others alongside a deeply supportive community of women (ACT and CBT clinical work included + self-compassion focused exercises).
- Typical group size: 6-10 women.
- Men’s Group Retreats (Led by Dr. R.C. Morris): Move from feeling “meh” to finding meaning. This is an action-oriented weekend for men to drop the armor, process burdens they carry silently, and build actionable psychological resilience with a brotherhood of peers (ACT, CBT, and Existential clinical work included).
- Typical group size: 6-10 men.
The Setting: Reconnecting in Utah
Hosted in serene, private settings, including destination intensives in St. George, Utah, our retreats balance rigorous clinical group work with restorative downtime in nature. It is the ideal environment to step out of the grind, recalibrate your nervous system, and rediscover your liberated mind.
Is this a “wellness” retreat or a therapy intensive?
This is a clinical therapy intensive. While we incorporate restorative time in the beautiful Southern Utah landscape and focus heavily on mindfulness, the core of this weekend is rigorous, evidence-based psychological work using ACT and CBT. We are not a spa getaway; expect deep emotional processing, unlearning toxic patterns, and doing real, actionable work.
Can I use my health insurance to pay for the retreat?
Because this is an accelerated, extended format that includes non-clinical costs (like catering and luxury venue fees), insurance companies do not cover retreats as a packaged service. However, a portion of the retreat consists of direct clinical therapy hours. We can provide a superbill for these specific hours, which you can submit to your insurance for potential out-of-network reimbursement (reimbursement is contingent on the specifics of your plan, so if you need information about reimbursement, please call your insurance provider before signing up for a retreat).
Do we all sleep in the same house?
To ensure your comfort, privacy, and appropriate clinical boundaries, you will have your own private sleeping accommodations. We hold our group sessions, meals, and ACT exercises in a beautiful central lodge or estate during the day. In the evenings, clinical hours conclude, allowing you to retreat to your own private space to decompress, rest, and integrate the day’s work.
I’m nervous about a group retreat. Will I be forced to share my deepest secrets?
(For Men’s and Women’s Retreats) It is completely normal to feel intimidated by group work. However, there is profound healing in realizing you are not the only one carrying this weight. You are never forced to share anything you aren’t ready to. We focus on shared human experiences, like perfectionism, burnout, faith transitions, and existential dread, and foster a highly secure, non-judgmental environment where you control your own level of vulnerability.
Will a weekend really “fix” my relationship or my anxiety?
A single weekend will not instantly “cure” every struggle, but it acts as a massive catalyst. By stepping out of your daily distractions, you can accomplish months’ worth of therapeutic processing in just a few days. You will leave with a completely new psychological framework, actionable tools, and a clear life-course direction. Many clients use this as a powerful reset and follow up with standard weekly therapy (with one of our CSWs) to maintain their momentum.
How do I know if I am a good fit for this?
These retreats are designed for individuals and couples who feel “stuck,” overwhelmed, or disconnected, and who are ready to do the deep work. Because of the intensive nature of the weekend, they are not appropriate for individuals currently experiencing acute active psychosis, active severe substance addiction, or immediate suicidal crises. Every applicant goes through a brief clinical intake call with our founders to ensure this format is safe and highly effective for your specific needs.
